Saharan dust and high temperatures linger: Alicante weather forecast June 22-25
Hot days, warm nights and dusty skies dominate the weather forecast this week in the Alicante Province

After a very hot weekend with weather alerts in place for the heat, it looks like the high temperatures are here to stay for now. The Saharan air continues to hang over Spain, bringing with it Saharan dust and keeping temperatures very high for late June. Let’s take a look at the daily breakdown.
Monday June 22
As expected, it will be hot and sunny with temperatures expected to be in the mid to high 30s. Calima dust will hang in the air and it will also feel quite humid at times, which will keep those nighttime temperatures high.
Winds will be light and variable during the morning before turning easterly around midday.
Tuesday June 23
Tuesday will be much the same, with more hot sunny weather with highs of 36°C. Again, that Saharan Calima dust will still be present in the air, giving the skies a hazy yellow appearance. Unfortunately, nighttime temperatures will also remain high at around 22°C-24°C.
Winds will be light and variable at first before becoming easterly after lunch.
Wednesday June 24
Wednesday will be another hot and sunny day, although there will be a slight dip in temperatures. Expect highs of around 34°C, but the nighttime temperatures will still be around 22°C. The Calima dust will still be lingering in the air so hold off on washing your car.
Winds will be light and variable in the morning and again later in the day, turning easterly around midday.
Thursday June 25
Thursday will also be hot and sunny and the temperatures will be very similar to Wednesday. You may notice a slight drop in the temperatures at night as some areas will drop to around 20°C. Again, you will notice the Calima dust hanging in the air as it shows no signs of dissipating just yet.
Winds will be light and variable at the start and end of the day, becoming more southerly and easterly around lunchtime.
Alicante has really been thrown straight into summer this year, with high temperatures arriving early and sticking around.
With the heat set to continue and Saharan dust still in the air, it's important to take care, drink plenty of water and try to avoid being out in the sun during the hottest part of the day.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this week

Monday June 22: Min 19ºC, Max 36ºC
Tuesday June 23: Min 22ºC, Max 36ºC
Wednesday June 24: Min 21ºC, Max 34ºC
Thursday June 25: Min 20ºC, Max 34ºC
