Five fantastic ways to celebrate the Three Kings weekend in the Region of Murcia
From Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’ to a giant Roscón and a dramatic royal arrival, the Region of Murcia offers plenty of festive activities for the final days of Christmas
As the holiday season draws to a close with the arrival of the Three Kings, the Region of Murcia has plenty of exciting events to celebrate this magical weekend. With concerts, theatre, unique traditions and sweet treats, there’s no better way to enjoy the last days of Christmas before the January blues set in.
1. San Javier: A New Year’s concert with Vivaldi
Ring in the New Year with a touch of classical music as San Javier hosts its traditional New Year’s concert this Saturday. Taking inspiration from Vienna’s January 1st tradition, the Meyerbeer Orchestra, led by renowned violinist Antonio García, will perform Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’.
This free event promises an enchanting evening to kick off 2025 in style.
- When: Saturday January 4 at 8pm.
- Where: Winter Theatre, San Javier.

2. Totana Zarzadilla: Reliving the story of the Wise Men
In the Lorca district of Zarzadilla, a cherished tradition comes to life with the ‘Auto de Reyes’. This theatrical performance, brought to you by thirty local residents, recounts the journey of the Three Kings in a series of lively scenes performed at various town locations.
Directed by Bartolomé Navarro, Rafael Martínez and Gregorio Sánchez, the event promises a delightful experience for all.
- When: Sunday January 5 at 11am.
- Where: Zarzadilla Botanical Garden, Totana, Lorca.
- Admission: Free.
3. Alcantarilla: The Three Kings touch down in style
The Three Kings make a grand entrance at the Alcantarilla Air Base, arriving in an Aviocar directly from the East. Accompanied by the dazzling stunts of the Air Force Parachute Acrobatic Patrol (Papea), this extraordinary landing sets the stage for a magical day.
The Wise Men will then travel to Adolfo Suárez Square to greet children and their families.
- When: Sunday January 5 from 9am.
- Where: Air Base, Alcantarilla.
- Admission: Free.
4. Cartagena: A sweet celebration with Roscón
Cartagena adds sweetness to the holiday weekend with thousands of free servings of the traditional ‘Roscón de Reyes’. Locals can enjoy this iconic treat at two events held at the Cénit Shopping Centre in the morning and the Town Hall Square in the afternoon.
The celebrations include live entertainment by Antonio Jimeno of Cadena 100 and a concert by ‘El sitio de mi garaje’.
- When: Saturday January 4 at 11am and 5pm.
- Where: Cénit Shopping Centre and Town Hall Square, Cartagena.
- Admission: Free.
5. Molina de Segura: Skating into the New Year
This Christmas, Molina de Segura offers a winter wonderland experience with a synthetic ice rink in Plaza Europa. Until January 6, visitors can glide into the New Year on skates, enjoying a fun activity for both children and adults.
When: Until January 6, from 11am to 2pm and 5.30pm to 8.30pm
Where: Plaza Europa, Molina de Segura.
