Click HereA night of unrelenting torrential rain in many parts of the Region of Murcia has brought about more road closures on Tuesday morning, many of them in coastal areas, following the disruption caused by rain and snow in the Costa Cálida on Monday.
As of 8.00 on Tuesday morning the roads belonging to the regional network which were closed to traffic were the following:
Apart from these many other local roads are bound to be flooded after the unremitting downpour in many areas of Murcia during the night, and as dawn broke on Tuesday the local police in the city of Murcia were already informing that the road alongside the rambla in Espinardo and the Vereda del Gallego in Torreagüera were closed.
At the same time on the shore of the Mar Menor numerous urban streets are under water in Los Alcázares and San Javier, and in Los Alcázares the Town Hall has announced that administrative offices will be closed all day in order to discourage residents from risking their safety by venturing out into the streets to complete paperwork.
With more rain forecast during the day all drivers are urged to exercise great caution and the recommendation is to avoid taking the car if possible.
