Two gored and seven hospitalised in running of the bulls at San Fermín 2025
A highly dangerous bull run saw serious injuries and chaotic scenes on the streets of Pamplona

The second day of the running of the bulls during the San Fermín 2025 bull festival in Pamplona, Spain left a trail of injuries, with two runners suffering goring wounds and a further seven hospitalised.
The day was marked by a number of perilous incidents, including a loose bull that caused widespread disruption and several runners being knocked to the ground.
Among those injured was Antonio García, a 38-year-old experienced runner from Caravaca de la Cruz in Murcia, who was gored under the armpit in the Espoz y Mina stretch of the route. He was quickly evacuated to the Hospital Universitario de Navarra, where he remains conscious and is receiving treatment.
Later, it was confirmed that a second participant, a Colombian man believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, had also been gored. He was struck in the back of the right thigh while running on the slope of Santo Domingo.
In total, seven people required hospital care following the chaotic run. Five of them are young men from Navarra, including Iban Ciganda González, 21, from Villava, who was treated in the Espoz y Mina section; Javier Yárnoz Cañas, 29, from Artajona, and D.L.G., 24, from Milagro, both injured near Telefónica; David Casajús, 26, from Sangüesa, injured near the Ayuntamiento; and Andoni Coscolin Villegas, 24, from Bilbao, who suffered injuries in the callejón.
Another runner, B.C.A., 33, was also injured near the Espoz y Mina stretch and taken to hospital.
Separately, one of the runners hurt during the first day of San Fermín, R.V.C., 33, from Barañáin, remains in a serious condition at the Hospital Universitario de Navarra due to thoracic trauma.
Since 1910, a total of 16 people have died in the San Fermín bull runs. Emergency teams remain on high alert as the festival continues throughout this week, with thousands of participants and spectators who have come from all over the world gathering daily in the streets of Pamplona.
