ARCHIVED - Two arrested after stealing items worth 20,000 euros from a home in Totana
Most of the stolen goods have been recovered by the Guardia Civil
Two men in their forties have been arrested by the Guardia Civil in Totana in connection with a burglary during which items worth approximately 20,000 euros were stolen from a property in the municipality, while at the same time most of the stolen goods have been recovered and returned to their rightful owner.
The burglary was committed late last year and it was soon found that those perpetrating it had broken in through a fence around the property and one of the windows. Among the objects removed were heavy machinery, tools, electronic goods and musical instruments, as well as a pet dog and a large amount of cash.
Investigating officers centred their enquiries on the immediate neighbourhood, working on the theory that to transport such a large booty any distance would have aroused suspicion, and with the help of members of the public soon identified the two men, aged 44 and 45, who have now been arrested. Their case is now in the hands of the courts of Totana.
