After a damp and dreary weekend, the Region of Murcia looks forward to a bright and sunny few days

Last week, Murcia registered the hottest temperatures in all of Spain, with thermometers rising to a blistering 32ºC in parts, but that all abruptly changed at the weekend, when an Atlantic front brought plenty of rain and cloudy skies. As the Region welcomes spring on Monday March 20, the weather is set to stabilise with plenty of sunshine and virtually no showers on the horizon.

Monday will be mostly clear and bright with intervals of low morning clouds forecast in the Campo de Cartagena. The night will be particularly chilly but the thermometers will begin climbing once more during the day, more notable inland. A light breeze tending to an easterly component is expected in the afternoon.

Caravaca de la Cruz: minimum 4ºC; maximum 21ºC
Cartagena: 11ºC; 20ºC
Lorca: 7ºC; 22ºC
Murcia: 8ºC; 24ºC
Yecla: 2ºC; 21ºC

Early morning mists will hit the south of the Region on Tuesday March 21 giving way to slightly cloudy skies later on. The temperatures will remain largely unchanged along the coast but it will continue to heat up inland while the breeze, today blowing from the south, will tend to pick up.

Caravaca de la Cruz: minimum 6ºC; maximum 24ºC
Cartagena: 11ºC; 19ºC
Lorca: 7ºC; 23ºC
Murcia: 8ºC; 25ºC
Yecla: 4ºC; 24ºC

Wednesday March 22 will again be mostly clear although episodes of low clouds and morning mists are forecast in the Campo de Cartagena. The thermometers will take a huge jump across the Region, reaching highs of 26ºC further inland.

Caravaca de la Cruz: minimum 7ºC; maximum 26ºC
Cartagena: 12ºC; 19ºC
Lorca: 8ºC; 24ºC
Murcia: 8ºC; 26ºC
Yecla: 6ºC; 25ºC

Thursday March 23 will be bright and sunny across the board, with early mists in Cartagena clearing throughout the morning to give way to a clear day. Light variable winds will arrive from the southwest and will feel stronger on the coast but the day and night-time temperatures will continue to climb.

Cartagena: 10ºC; 21ºC
Lorca: 9ºC; 25ºC
Murcia: 8ºC; 28ºC
