Click HereAfter a night of very heavy rain in central Murcia and the Campo de Cartagena, including the shore of the Mar Menor, the regional government has announced that all State schools will close on Tuesday in the municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcázares and San Javier.
At the same time, for the second day running there will be no classes on Tuesday at the schools in the villages of La Parroquia, El Consejero, Zarcilla de Ramos, Zarzadilla de Totana, Coy, Avilés and the infants’ school in La Paca, all of them in the north of the huge municipality of Lorca, and the doors will also remain closed at the school in Casas Nuevas (Mula).
On the other hand, classes resume on Tuesday in Aledo, Cehegín, Jumilla, Pliego, Campos del Río, Yecla, Bullas, Totana, Caravaca de la Cruz and Moratalla, with the exception of the centres in outlying villages within the last two municipalities mentioned, after they were closed by snow on Monday.
So heavy was the rain during the night in the city of Murcia that rumours circulated that classes had also been suspended in the regional capital, but the Town Hall has confirmed that this is just a hoax.
