ARCHIVED - San Pedro del Pinatar Fiestas from June 16 with Covid restrictions
Limited celebrations to honour the patron saint, San Pedro Apóstol, will be held from June 16 until June 29
San Pedro del Pinatar has adapted its yearly festivities, which are held in honour of the patron saint San Pedro Apóstol, to the current Covid restrictions and the local council has detailed the activities which will still go ahead this year.
The celebrations will start this weekend with two folk dancing performances by the local San Pedro folk dancers on June 18 with the children at 21.30 and on the 19th with the adult dancers at 22.00, both in the recinto de fiestas, followed by several other performances and events, which are scheduled up to June 29, including shows for children on June 23 (“El marivilloso mundo de Drilo”) and June 27 (“El Gran libro Mágico”).
The musicians Salva Ortega and Andrés Ballester will be performing on Friday, June 25, and D’Locos and Simetría will be performing the day after, on Saturday, June 26.
On June 28, the traditional offering of fruit and flowers will take place in the plaza de la Constitución, from 7 pm until 10 pm. However, this year there will be no parade, but residents can still take fruit and other non-perishables as an offering for the patron saint.
And on June 29 the normal concert given by the Unión Musical band will be held in the Recinto de Fiestas at 22.00, but with ticket entry only as above in order to limit the attendance. This will be followed by fireworks at midnight.
All of the organised events are free to attend, but due to the Covid occupancy restrictions those interested in attending events need to pick up a ticket in advance from the Tourist Initiative Centre (tourist office) on Avenida Las Salinas, at the Town Hall, or the library of Lo Pagán, from June 15.
In addition to these concerts and performances, from June 15 until June 29, large photographs of the festivities from other years will be on display in the centre of San Pedro del Pinatar.
