Click HereIt has been confirmed that one person died and various were injured, as many as 14 according to some reports, in a crash on the AP-7 motorway in San Javier on Thursday morning.
The incident was reported to the 112 emergency services line at approximately 6.30, when a car travelling in the wrong direction collided with others between the exits at kilometres 782 (Pozo Aledo and San Javier central) and 784 (the old airport exit). Both lanes of the northbound carriageway were blocked and considerable delays were reported, and although ambulances and the fire brigade were dispatched to the scene immediately it was not possible to save the life of the mortal victim.
Various of the other injured were taken for treatment to the Hospital Los Arcos in the outskirts of San Javier.
