Murcia weather forecast, Friday December 8

So far, this has been a bit of a cloudier, greyer and overall drearier week than we’ve become accustomed to of late in the Region of Murcia. But don’t worry, the sunshine will return to this corner of southern Spain. As long as we can get past Friday morning, when rain and thunderstorms are forecast, it’ll be plain sailing from there and into next week.

Thursday December 7 is forecast to be nice and sunny at first, but turning more overcast from about 5pm onwards and it will start to rain in the evening, continuing overnight.

The rains increase in intensity until reaching their climax on Friday morning, December 8, with thunder and lightning predicted in San Javier, Yecla and Caravaca de la Cruz. While the rain will clear up by mid-morning and leave bright, clear skies, it will be a very windy day, with windspeeds as strong as 30-45kmh across the entire Region, and strongest near the border of Almería, which is on yellow alert for high winds.

Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 will be much more settled, with no rain forecast, minimal cloud cover and normal windspeeds of 5-10kmh.

While temperatures will drop slightly on Saturday, they will actually go up on Sunday and into next week, so that by next Tuesday the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is predicting maximum values of nearly 30ºC in Lorca and Totana and that almost everywhere will be back into double digits at night-time!
