More than a hundred people visit San Javier Storm Alice assistance centre on the first day alone
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
Over a hundred residents sought help at the new assistance centre set up by the Town Council for those affected by flooding and water cuts caused by Storm Alice
Throughout the morning, more than 100 people visited the assistance centre opened by the
San Javier Town Council to support residents affected by the recent flooding and drinking water supply interruption. Most visitors came to report flood damage to their homes, but once informed, many also submitted complaints about the water supply cuts.
For residents without a digital signature, the centre provides printed application forms and offers guidance on submitting them to the Town Hall along with the required documentation, such as a property tax receipt and proof of ownership.
The municipal aid applies only to homes, so any damage to vehicles must be handled through private insurance companies or the Insurance Consortium. Regarding losses related to the lack of drinking water, whether affecting businesses or private households, the Town Hall will process these claims directly with the Government Delegation at the same service point.
The Councillor for Urban Planning and the Environment, Toni Martínez Torrecillas, who is coordinating this service, reminded residents that the assistance centre will remain open from 9am to 2pm for as long as necessary.
