ARCHIVED - Mazarron gets 9 Blue Flags for its beaches and harbours
It is the municipality with the second highest number of Blue Flags in the Region of Murcia, with over a quarter of the total
Of the 34 Blue Flags in the Region of Murcia this year, nine of them are in Mazarrón, which makes it the municipality with the second highest number of Blue Flags in the whole Region.
Seven of Mazarrón’s Blue Flags are for its beaches, specifically Playa del Alamillo, Playa de Bahía, Playa del Mojón, Playa del Puerto, Playa Grande-Castellar, Playa de las Nares and Playa del Rihuete, while the remaining two Blue Flags are for its harbours the Club de Regatas and the Marina.

The Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognisable voluntary awards for beaches, certifying the cleanest, safest and most accessible beaches in the world.
This recognition for Mazarrón’s beaches comes just two weeks after six of them were also awarded the SICTED certificate for outstanding tourist quality.
Spain as a whole has more Blue Flag beaches than anywhere else in the world, with a total of 729 in 2022, which is 16 more than last year.
