MAMAS, Mazarron Animal Medi-aid charity
MAMAS, Helping you helping the animals
MAMAS, Mazarrón Animal Medi-Aid, is a registered charity working in the Mazarrón area of of Murcia. From the money raised in their charity shop in Puerto de Mazarrón and from generous donations, they can help people who rescue animals in distress, towards the medical costs involved. There are also times when they can help towards the cost of people's own pet care, when they find themselves unable to cope with the financial burdens of unexpected veterinary treatment.
In the first instance it is important to get a quotation for what is required, from Clinica Huellas, or Paco, who are the two vets in Puerto de Mazarrón, that MAMAS currently deal with. This quotation should then be handed in to the shop, where it will be dealt with at the next committee meeting. Once approved, a voucher will be issued towards the cost of the specific veterinary treatment needed.
If you have any items for donation, please take them to the shop, and when there, have a browse around the many items for sale. You may find just what you are looking for !

MAMAS, are helping you help the animals
Mazarrón Animal Medi-Aid (MAMAS), is an established and respected name in animal welfare in and around the Mazarrón area.
Their aim is to provide a source of funding towards the essential care and wellbeing of domestic animals such as cats and dogs in as much as they will consider contributing towards the cost of veterinary fees for castrations, spaying etc, where the operation will in some way contribute to stem the overwhelming numbers of puppies and kittens in the area. Consideration will be given towards the funding of vital surgery in cases of genuine hardship and towards the cost of providing food and nourishment of fostered animals.
As with other charities they depend greatly upon the generosity and goodwill of the public. Please donate any goods you can, large or small. They have transport available for collection most days of the week.
MAMAS are on Camposol B sector car park every Tuesday 10am to 12noon and will take: Clothes, Furniture, Books, DVD´s, Electrical and Household goods. In fact anything you no longer need.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 2pm.
The shop is in Puerto de Mazarron, go past the Mercadona shopping centre down towards the port. Just down the hill you will see a Consum supermarket on your left. Turn left onto the road immediately below Consum and they are the third turning on your left (Calle San Juan), opposite the park.
