June 21 US rapper Macklemore live in the Costa del Sol
The legendary musician will raise the roof in Fuengirola for one night only
American rap sensation Macklemore returns to Spain for a highly anticipated solo concert on Friday June 21 at the Marenostrum Fuengirola festival as part of his extensive European tour promoting his newest release, 'Ben'.
Born in Seattle, Washington, Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, known professionally as Macklemore, rose to prominence as an independent musician, garnering global acclaim and accolades.
Teaming up with producer Ryan Lewis in 2012, Macklemore achieved breakthrough success with the critically acclaimed album 'The Heist,' spawning chart-topping singles like 'Thrift Shop' and 'Can't Hold Us.'
Subsequent triumphs include winning four Grammys and collecting a variety of prestigious awards such as MTV Europe Music Awards, American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards. With nearly 20 billion streams and views to date, Macklemore ranks among the most successful independent musicians on the planet.
Released in 2023, 'Ben' represents Macklemore's third studio effort, chronicling his adolescent experiences amidst flourishing hip-hop, skateboarding and graffiti cultures of the late '90s.
His artistic career is characterised by a constant search for authenticity, reflected in his introspective lyrics, and, in addition to his musical expression, Macklemore supports artists from his hometown as co-founder of the Hip-Hop and Youth Development program 'The Residency'.
With a clear passion for music, Macklemore remains an important figure in the industry, and uses his platform to address social issues such as substance abuse awareness, racial equality and LGBTQ+ rights.
