July 28 Fine dining and wine tasting at the Roman villa of Los Villaricos in Mula

Los Villaricos con el Paladar offers a summer evening meal at the 2,000-year-old Roman site

This special al fresco dinner is organized by the Town Hall of Mula and the Bullas Wine Route at the remains of the Roman villa of Los Villaricos, which dates from the 1^st century AD and is located just off the motorway a few kilometres outside the town of Mula.

This villa continued as a going concern and a family residence for a long time and the first indications of occupancy date from the second half of the 1st century AD to the second half of the second century. After more than a century of existence the villa was totally modified, and in the 4^th century mosaic flooring was laid and a number of minor reforms undertaken. Around 500 years after it was first built, the industrial activities of the villa ceased altogether and only a residual population remained in or near the villa, but today it is one of the most important Roman sites in the Region of Murcia.

The evening visit on July 28 begins with a guided tour of the site and continues with a tapas dinner and a selection of D.O. Bullas wines. Soft drinks and beer are not served.

The price of the event is 40 euros per head and online bookings should be made here. The visit will not go ahead with fewer than 30 people.
