Flash flooding, road closures and rescues in Almería as rain continues
Three people had to be rescued in parts of Almería due to heavy rain and flooding on the roads
¡Puf! Mismas escenas, diferente lugar.

Intense rainfall swept through parts of the west of Almería province on Monday, affecting several municipalities and prompting a surge of emergency responses.
Heavy water flows dragged vehicles along the Rambla de la Culebra in Vícar, where three people – one of them with reduced mobility – were rescued after becoming trapped under the Puente Culebra bridge. Fortunately, all three are reported to be in good condition.
The heavy rains have led to significant disruptions in Almería’s Poniente region to the west of the capital, where nearly 40 weather-related incidents were recorded.
The towns of El Ejido, Roquetas de Mar, Aguadulce, Balanegra and Vícar were especially hard-hit, with reports of flooded homes, shops and basements as well as localised road closures and sewage issues.
Incredibly, much of Almería city centre was left untouched with virtually no rainfall at all.

In the affected areas, emergency services tackled water accumulation on the main roads, including the A-7 motorway near kilometre 831 in Balanegra and key local routes such as the AL-3303 and N-340 in El Ejido, and the AL-9204 in Vícar.
The A-7 through Balanegra is still completely closed as the rains caused damage to a drainage pipe on the dual carriageway.
“For safety reasons traffic has been closed in both directions... until the repair work has been carried out,” said a statement from El Ejido Town Hall.
The rain is forecast to continue in Andalucía for the rest of the week, and the Costa del Sol is on yellow and orange alert for heavy rainfall on Wednesday November 13.
Emergency services have advised people to take extra caution and follow self-protection measures: “Remain calm, seek verified information from official channels, and avoid spreading rumours. In any emergency, dial 112, available 24/7.”
