ARCHIVED - Fifth annual Flamenco Week in Alhama de Murcia: September 19 to 25
Guests can pick up their free tickets at the Archaeological Museum in Alhama de Murcia
The municipality of Alhama de Murcia is hosting the fifth annual Flamenco Week from September 19 to 25, with a selection of both national and international musicians and dancers.
Tickets to all of the shows and concerts are completely free and those who wish to attend can pick up their tickets from the Los Baños Archaeological Museum in Alhama from Tuesday September 14, although due to occupancy and Covid restrictions, a maximum of four tickets will be given to each person, and those picking up the passes will have to provide names and phone numbers for all of the guests.
This year’s programme is as follows:
- Sunday September 19, 9pm: ‘RECREO’ dance performance by Cádiz-born dancer María Moreno at the Tierno Galván Municipal Auditorium.
- Monday September 20, midday: ‘RECREO’ dance performance by Cádiz-born dancer María Moreno at the Las Flotas Therapy Centre.
- Monday September 20, 7pm: inauguration of the ‘Yo bailo’ photography exhibition by Susana Girón at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum.
- Monday September 20, 9pm: musical performance by ‘Niño de Elche’, accompanied by guitarist Raúl Cantinazo at the Tierno Galván Municipal Auditorium.
- Tuesday September 21, midday: musical performance by ‘Niño de Elche’ at the Third Age Centre in Alhama de Murcia.
- Tuesday September 21, 7pm: Gabriel Maldonado presents his educational proposal for primary and secondary school students at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum.
- Tuesday September 21, 9pm: classic flamenco recital ‘Flamenco De La Rosa & Lago’ by Ismael de la Rosa González and Óscar Lago at the Tierno Galván Municipal Auditorium
- Wednesday September 22, 9.30pm: theatrical flamenco performance ‘Sin Ojana’ by Germán J- López Galván and the Chicharrón company at the Tierno Galván Municipal Auditorium.
- Thursday September 23, 9pm: 'La Bailaora. Pasos de Arte' choreography directed by Juan Ogalla and performed by young local flamenco dancers at the Tierno Galván Municipal Auditorium.
- Friday September 24, midday: 'La Bailaora. Pasos de Arte' choreography directed by Juan Ogalla and performed by young local flamenco dancers at the Las Salinas Disability and Psychosocial Care Centre in Alhama.
- Friday September 24, 9pm: flamenco performance by Matías ‘El Mati’ López, accompanied by guitarist Oscar Lago, pianist Alfonso Aroca and Cartagena-born drummer Javier Rabadán at the Tierno Galván Municipal Auditorium.
- Saturday September 25, all morning: meeting between the organizers of the Flamenco-Electrónico ‘RomeroMartín’ project and local Feminist Committees at the Tierno Galván Municipal Auditorium.
- Saturday September 25, 9pm: ‘Manifiesto’ performance, including music and poetry recitals, at the RomeroMartín venue.
