Partying, music and a variety of food including Full English Breakfasts as Roda honours the Virgen de los Remedios
The annual fiestas of Roda in the municipality of San Javier are held every year in August in honour of the Virgen de los Remedios, with the program of the 2024 festivities having been announced as follows:
Saturday August 17
21.30: Official opening of the fiestas.
22.00: Election of the fiestas queen and maids of honour, after which the drinks and bar snacks are available.
22.15: Live music from Top Music Group.
1.00: Bread and sobrasada sausage spread for all, thanks to the generosity of Embutidos Gutiérrez.
Sunday August 18
9.45: Vintage car and motorcycle rally.
12.00: Holy Mass.
14.00: Giant paella, portions at a very modest price
19.00: Live reggae music.
21.00: Disco music with Iris Sonido.
23.00: Dance show by the Asociación Cultural Bolero.
Monday and Tuesday August 19 and 20
1700: Petanca tournament, teams of 3 players with 2 balls each, registration on 638 519250.
Wednesday August 21
22.00: Latino dance class with Jorge & Sofía!
22.30: Chocolate and buns for all, price just 1.50 euros.
Thursday August 22
9.45 to 13.00: Music sponsored by Roda’s Bar.
10.00 to 12.00: FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST, an element of the local fiestas which has become one of the highlights since it was first served after the Covid pandemic!
21.30: BBQ dinner, 3 euros for a burger, with live entertainment from VELVET Music.
Friday August 23
21.30: Disco music with Iris Sonido.
22.00: Fancy dress party, prizes for the best 3 costumes.
23.30: Foam party!
Saturday August 24
22.00: Live music and dancing from Destell Show.
23.00: Grand raffle.
1.00: Migas night, portions just 1.50 euros.
Sunday August 25 (Children’s Day)
10.00 to 12.00: Fun and games for kids in the Pinada.
12.00: Sardines donated by Pescadería El Pavo, Price just 50 cents, to be donated to the local church.
20.30: Mass is followed by a candlelit procession of the figure of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios in the streets of the village, accompanied by a marching band and followed by fireworks.
22.00: Dance performance by Kimbara.
23.00: Disco music with Iris Sonido and the end of the fiestas.

The municipality of San Javier has three main offices giving tourist information to visitors, as well as two information points. The tourist offices are located in Santiago de la Ribera, on the ground floor of the town hall in San Javier and at the start of La Manga. There is also a summer tourist information point located on the seafront in Santiago de la Ribera as well as one at kilometre 12-13 of La Manga del Mar Menor next to Playa Mistral.
Due to its location on the fringes of the Mar Menor and Mediterranean, San Javier has a period of intense summer tourism activity during the peak summer months, although it is popular with retirees of all nationalities out of peak season.
Tickets for the annual San Javier Jazz Festival can be purchased at the Festival office in San Javier Town Hall, Plaza de España.
