Efforts to improve accessibility at various beaches of Mazarrón

As is the case every year, efforts have been made by the Town Hall of Mazarrón this summer to ensure that no-one is excluded from the opportunity to enjoy a dip in the sea on the grounds of disability, providing special facilities at three of the most popular beaches in the municipality to allow those of limited mobility to enjoy the relaxing seawater of the Mediterranean.

Among the beaches concerned are those of El Puerto, La Isla and Bahía, where there are amphibious bathing chairs and crutches as well as staff offering their services to help get into and out of the water.

In addition, the beaches of El Alamillo, Nares and Bolnuevo are equipped with shaded areas reserved for those whose limited mobility makes it difficult for them to stay out of the hot sun when they wish, and wooden walkways make it possible for wheelchairs to be manoeuvred right down to the water’s edge – again, with the assistance of lifeguard staff.
