ARCHIVED - Zaragoza and Huesca in Aragon going back to phase 2 as preventative covid measure
The regional government is concerned about the forthcoming holidays around 12th October
Zaragoza and Huesca in the Aragón region are returning to phase 2 of the de-escalation as of Thursday October 8th to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The measure will be applied in the Aragonese capital for a week between the 8th and 15th as a preventive measure against the possible holding of social gatherings on the holidays surrounding October 12th.
According to the Heraldo de Aragón, this decision is part of the “principle of prudence” being adopted by the regional government following several major outbreaks this summer, as the epidemiological data of the Aragonese capital reflects an incidence of between 200 and 300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in recent weeks. In this way, these measures are intended to both preserve the health system and prevent future confinement of the city in subsequent weeks.
In the same way, and given the increase in the positives notified in recent weeks, the city of Huesca will also go to phase 2, without perimeter confinement, for a week. The capital of Huesca has reached a rate of 700 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
