ARCHIVED - Deaths drop to mid-March levels in Spain on Thursday
48 fatalities in the last 24 hours is the lowest figure since March 16th
Image: This illustrates the strong community response which has been ongoing throughout this crisis. Volunteers from Protección Civíl and the local agricultural sector in Totana, Murcia, continuing to disinfect the public areas of the town on a daily basis to help fight against the virus. Still going strong 2 months after the crisis began.
On Thursday the offical Covid case data compiled daily by the Ministry of Health reported the lowest fatalities total since the 16th March (22 fatalities) for the third time in the last week, dropping to 48 deaths within the last 24 hours.( On Monday 59 were reported and 83 on Sunday)
Yesterday 95 fatalities were confirmed, and the 48 additions today now brings the total to 27,940 since the start of the pandemic.
344 new cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, and although any new cases at all is bad news, this is a decrease compared to the Wednesday figures, when 416 new positives were registered.
