ARCHIVED - 29th February and 1st March Spanish Naval vessel open for visits in Cartagena
The BAC Cantabria can be visited in the cruise ship dock
Opening times:
Saturday 29th February; from 09.30 to 13.00 and again from 15.00 to 18.30
Sunday 1st March; from 10.00 to 14.00.
Entry free of charge.
The Spanish Navy supply vessel "Cantabria" is scheduled to arrive in Cartagena on Friday afternoon for crew shore leave and will be open for free entry visits on both Saturday and Sunday.
The information given only talks about the open day being in "Cartagena port." This normally means the cruise ship dock which is right in the centre of the main waterside near to the ARQUA Museum. There is parking nearby beneath the dockside and in Calle Real for those with vehicles suitable for underground carparks. Those with campervans or higher vehicles can park near to the former Plaza de Toros and walk down to the dock, about 10 minutes on foot. See Cartagena parking
If the vessel is not there, then it will be on the far side of the port in the Muelle de la Curra, which is accessed by driving down to the roundabout near to the Santa Lucía hospital which has a crane in the middle of it and turning right down towards Escombreras. The military dock is there on the right hand side.
