ARCHIVED - 19,000 euros worth of beach repairs in la Manga and Cabo de Palos
Maintenance is a year-round job but with the tourist season underway, Cartagena council has been busy finishing off repairs to walkways, fencing and beach accesses damaged by the winter storms and Gota Fría of last year.
As the council must first seek permission from the Costas department to undertake works related to the beaches and coast some of the repairs have taken longer than anticipated, but woodwork to the tune of 19,000 euros has now been completed
The wooden accesses in La Manga and Cabo de Palos have been improved, with a new wooden fence at the entrance to the Levante beach next to the old Cati restaurant, in the Amoladeras area, and the wooden fencing has been replaced in Cala Medina. In La Manga, a new access ramp has been built to Las Sirenas beach and in the Cala del Pino logs have been replaced.
