Milder air will be swept aside this week as Andalucíafaces a run of unsettled, blustery weather, with rain making a comeback and temperatures taking a dip, especially inland. Keep an umbrella and a coat handy, as there will be a notable difference between the breezy coasts and the cooler, occasionally frosty, interior. A mix of cloud, showers and occasional bright spells is on the cards, as is a real taste of late autumn across the region, from Málaga to Huelva and Jaén to Almería.

 

 

Clouds build widely in the morning and by afternoon rain is quite likely, particularly in the mountains near Granada and Jaén. Minimum temperatures creep up, but maximums fall back away from the coast and Guadalquivir Valley. The winds pick up noticeably, fresh to strong in the eastern sierras and along the coast, where very strong gusts are possible. Expect Córdoba and Seville to get breezier as the day unfolds.

 

 

The early part of the day brings very blustery winds, particularly in the east, from Almería right up to Jaén and the sierras. Rain is more widespread early on, heaviest near the Betic mountain ranges, though things begin to brighten around midday. Temperatures hover in the low twenties along the coast at Málaga, a touch cooler in Huelva and inland. Westerly winds remain lively, only swinging to northerly later in the day.

 

 

After a chilly inland sunrise, with some possible frost in exposed eastern valleys, the skies turn brighter and drier. Temperatures take a dip inland, while coastal places, like Cádiz and Tarifa, enjoy a milder afternoon with gentle breezes. Winds are light northerlies for most, with the odd moderate gust.

 

 

Calm weather continues with partly cloudy or clear skies. Minimum temperatures fall again, with a chilly start and light frosts in parts of the eastern interior and Sierra Morena. The Mediterranean coast, including Málaga, sees slightly cooler afternoons, while other areas hold steady or warm up a little. Winds are light and variable near the coast, a touch more brisk elsewhere.

 

 

This week sees autumn’s grip tighten, with regular showers, gusty winds and a growing chill, so enjoy the bright intervals, when you can, and keep the layers close at hand.
