Click HereOn January 16 the official program for the Winter Theatre season at the indoor auditorium in San Javier was presented, although Councillor David Martínez added that there is a possibility that the schedule could yet be added to between now and May.
The events taking place over the next four months are the following:
Saturday January 27
20.00: Mi Cuerpo Será Camino, the first of a trilogy of plays by Alba Saura, performed by Alquibla Teatro. Tickets 10 euros.
Saturday February 23
20.00: The Orquesta Virtuós Mediterrani perform “Immortal Beloved”, inspired by a love letter which composer Ludwig van Beethoven wrote to an unknown addressee on 6 or 7 July 1812 in Teplitz. Tickets 15 euros.
Saturday March 9
20.00: Dvorak’s Requiem, performed by the Orquesta Virtuós Mediterrani, the Patnia choir and guest soloists, conducted by Gerardo Estrada. The concert is one of many being held to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the composer’s death. Admission free of charge.
Saturday March 23
20.00: Pandataria, a play about the small island which was converted by the Romans into an exile/prison for non-conformist women and then brought back into similar use by Mussolini in 1941. The lead actress is Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, the current president of the Spanish Academy of Performing arts as well as a leading journalist and actress. Other actors and dancers include Elio Toffana, La Merce, Baseum Mahnonh and Chus Western. Tickets 15 euros.
Saturday April 26
20.00: El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla, performed by the Orquesta Virtuós Mediterrani. Tickets 15 euros.
Saturday May 4
20.00: No Me Falte el Aire, the second of the Trilogía del Camino plays by Alba Saura, performed by Alquibla Teatro. Tickets 10 euros. The third play of the cycle will be performed during the annual International Theatre, Music and Dance Festival of San Javier during the summer.
Tickets for the theatre events are available from the council department of Culture and from www.festivalessanjavier.com, and for the concerts from www.virtuosmediterrani.com.
