ARCHIVED - 11:50 update: Road closures reach Sucina and Hacienda Riquelme as flooding continues in Murcia

Numerous roads flooded in the city and municipality of Murcia

As the rain continues to fall in and around the city of Murcia the local police in the regional capital are urging drivers to proceed with extreme care due to flooding closing more and more roads.

By 10.00 on Tuesday morning major urban roads had been closed in the north of the city, including the Avenida Reino de Murcia, as well as in districts such as Espinardo, Torreagüera, Beniaján, Cabezo de Torres and Gea y Truyols. With some of the heaviest rain being reported in the Campo de Cartagena the area around the golf resorts in Sucina was also suffering severe disruption: the RM-F60 to La Peraleja and the RM-F20 to Avileses were both closed to traffic at 10.30, making travelling to and from Hacienda de Riquelme Golf Resort increasingly difficult at the morning progressed.

11:00. As the heavy rain continues to fall in the city of Murcia and the Campo de Cartagena more roads are being added to the list of closures on Tuesday morning, the latest being the RM-F19 between the RM-F19 between the RM-1 motorway and the village and golf resort of La Tercia and the RM-F20 between ⚠️ Cerramos the motorway and Avileses.
